I said I would never do it, but...........

ONLY FYI - no opinion offered.
Since this is a darkside thread and I'm here anyway, I thought I'd post this case that just ran across my desk.
NOT meant to inflame - but this is the first professional related email I have received regarding a CT on a MC crash case.

"I have a client attorney needing an expert regarding a large touring bike equipped with an after-market passenger vehicle type tire. Apparently, between 60-65 mph, on a relatively flat curved portion of a roadway, the rear end of the m/c began to vigorously wobble and as the operator slowed, the wobble became stronger……m/c then either washed out or was laid down by the operator.
Client is looking for a motorcycle expert with experience with that can address the tire change.
Please respond directly to me and I will forward your information to the attorney."

Welll? How many millions did they settle for? Was it a bad mount, a bad tire, wrong tire pressure????

I know a chap who had a blow out of his new rear MC tire. Fast sport bike rider. When he woke up he had no legs below the knees, bilaterally. Legs and him arrived to the ER in different vehicles.

When you straddle a motorcycle you have to be ready to die. There are many sports like that. They involve speed, balance, judgment and skill.

I turned the case down. It was plaintiff related and I, in good faith, I could not support what I felt was a losing case.

Stay off the rear brake thats a HD owners bad habit stomping the rear brake .
I never said i stomp on the rear brake, the brake is there to use it and to help slow the bike down, my way of riding has kept me up for the last 30 years, never lost one yet and i plan to keep it that way

TYPI

YOULL stop a lot faster using more front brake and stop stomping the rear pedal it will lock up the back wheel LOL
I was doing that just to test and compare, i know how to stop my bike, belive me, have done it for 30 years and never fall yet, how many times have you fall so far?
:D

So many people have confused the Bridgestone Exedra Max radial with either their same series tire in bias ply or the Bridgestone Exedra series (non-Max) that I wonder if this might be the contributing factor to the few negative comments I've read here about the BEM.

Every motorcycle tire that I have ever used, loses a significant amount of wet or cold weather traction after the treads are worn by about 50% or more. With the three Exedra Maxes I've used, that issue becomes noticeable at about 75% tread wear and actionable at 85+%.

I ride hard and mostly on twisty, hilly and mountain backroads often with very steep grades and very tight radius turns, so about 8000 miles is about the limit for me and my tires are often changed just before the cords become visible, requiring that the last 1000- 1500 miles of use is done with appropriate care and wider margins for safety.
