2005 Triumph Rocket3,
I am in Houston, TX.
I hoping to get some advice on a price for my classic Rocket III with around 19K on the clock.
It is in very good condition and well maintained. Always garage kept.
I have lots of upgrades (still have all original parts). I am better off to put old components back and sell the upgrade parts?
Or should I just try to sell with all upgrade components?
Any advice will be appreciated
List of upgrades:
  • Triumph factory TORS exhaust
  • Coupler to connect the 3 pipes to bypass emissions.
  • RAM air upgrade.
  • Corbin seat with removable back rest.
  • Triumph OEM sissy bar.
  • Floorboards.
  • Revco handlebar raiser.
  • (2) Madstad detachable screen. Tinted small screen and large see-through.
  • Stebel Nautilus Air-Horn (139 Db)
  • Upgrade LED headlights.
  • Detachable leather saddle bags (brackets hardly visible when bags are removed)
  • Remapped for optimum performance.
  • Avalon tires in very good condition.

That's a nice looking bike with a lot of nice stuff. If it was me, I'd price it what you think it's worth IE: what you want to get out of it and go from there. You can always lower the price later if need be.

The only 2 things that matter are clean title and good condition. They always need work like any motorcycle and bolt on and cool stuff so not add value.
Bottom line is that there are ones nicer lower miles that sell for about 6grand max depending on where you are. Since you are in the USA best value to actually sell to a non sucker who falls in love with this bike and has no emotion to a wallet is about 5,500 max.
$4,500 sells it quick.

Really it's not the motorcycle. It's the age and replacement value.
It's not a special motorcycle like a rune or something instantly rare and $$$$ to upkeep or work on. So even though it's a niche motorcycle it's still falls into this category in the video.
Insurance companies value them at about $7,500 but that's dealership replacement stuff and insurance bs. When my fender got dinged It got totalled for $6,980. I took the payout!
It's a crap used market bike. That's why. It's not what it's worth. It's what the market will buy it at. I soldy escape for 3100 but it has 314k miles. It took 4 months to sell and was a special situation. The question for you to answer is $1,500 worth holding on to it for 6 months to a year or so you want to sell it now at the +/-4500 range?

By far the best explanation ever made here

My first thought was $4500 low side to $6000 high side. $5000 is a good target. You could take the TORs and bypass off but then the AFR would be messed up. You could put it back to stock all the way around and let it go for $4000 to $4500. Then sell the aftermarket bits, but that means a lot of work and waiting and shipping. You really don't have many options that make it easy other than selling as is and as nice as it is this way.

If you want big bucks you could strip the entire bike down to parts. eBay post them all and cut the cost by 30% what everyone else is selling them at and still make $10k on parting out perfectly good working parts.
The trans alone is about $600. Tank, $700, fenders $900. Engine block assembly with the heads verified good for $2500. Frame 300, front end $1200. So on and so forth. You can always double or triple the worth of it by parting it out.
But if time and storage is a value to you. Sell it for $4800. Done
