I loved my '06 VMax. It was the first bike I bought new though it was bike number 26. My only regret was not adding certain safety features like frame support and fork support to help stiffen it up some. That partly led to my first street bike crash. But straight line running, I could never get enough of its all out thrust. Many folks don't like the VMax on the highway, but I did several 500 mile days in its saddle and never complained. It had a short range though and I had to stop ever 100-120 miles for fuel. Other that that, it is hard to beat the thrill of that ride.
Now compare the VMax to my R3T, the T has way more comfort and enough thrust that I don't regret buying it vice a new VMax. The R3T takes care of both my needs and my wants in a very good way. The two bikes are not even close in comparison though many people do. On the ¼ mile track, stock VMax wins, beef either of them up equally, maybe the R3 will eventually outrun the Max, I just don’t know if anyone has ever done such a thing…
