Hooligan or gentleman?!?

I originally wanted the Touring as I liked the look, didn't end up that way though as std came along at right price. Like the idea of boxes on the side you can just throw stuff in.

Now I convert my standard back and forwards depending on what I'm doing. If going touring, bolt on screen and bags, most of the time it gets left in hooligan mode with most stuff off it

Depends on your riding both engines are essentially the same.

When the Rockets first came on the scene I saw one at the Sydney motorcycle show and thought what a great motor but the ugly tank and ridiculous rear tyre put me off right out of the gate ,but when the Touring was released it was love at first sight it is such a great looking bike if only the thing was put together properly I treated mine like a baby and it bit me so the love affair was over ,my son rebuilt the Touring but I won't take it far from home I just don't trust its reliability I just returned on Monday from another 5000Klm trip to Townsville to attend my old Mates Funeral on my GTR1400 and it once again it gobbled up the 1000K days at ease riding at sometime double the posted speed limit
Stock Roadster is expensive to adapt to proper touring mode....Touring is relatively cheap to make power on par with the roadster.

Neither (in stock form)will outrun an FJ....our local coppers ride FJ's and my roadster is basically stock...I'm an expert on this topic :whitstling:

The FJR and the GTR are both great platforms for Police Pursuit bikes I have spoken to our Local HWP riders who have a mixture of FJRs and GTRs the FJR has cruise control and is slightly lighter the GTR is slightly faster and has more torque across the range (variable Valve timing) they the only aborted chases they have had are against big sports bikes none of the cruiser give them any problems particularly in the twisties ,these guys are well trained and on their bikes full shifts most days ,
I rode to Phillip Island two years ago with a group including a 1700 kitted Thunderbird and was impressed with the bike as I am with the Rockets other people have, I just got a Friday afternoon after a few Schooner Sandwiches Lunch.

I vote hooligan.

Hooligan was my choice, once you make your decision let me know if you are interested. Mine will be for sale. Nothing wrong with it. Just lost interest in riding .
