Highway Bars and Adjustable Pegs

I am considering the Triumph adjustable pegs as well after my last trip to Tennessee. I moved my feet all over the place from resting on the top portion of the engine crash bars to putting my heels on the passenger floorboards. The hyway pegs are a must...

I was looking hard at the Kuryakyn Longhorns too, but then I sat on the bike and thought about it and realized I can move my feet around a lot on the industrial-sized footplates on the R3T. Putting them as far front as possible I'm approaching where my feet would be on some adjustable highway pegs. So, not going to bother. If I were on the R3C/R I would.

I used to do the same thing, just putting the tips of my heels on the front edge of the boards. But after a few really long trips with the pegs on the crash bars, I can say it's much better to be able to bring the feet to different elevations...it's not just about having the leg extended.

So would you guys recommend the adjustable pegs or non adjustable? The Triumph ones are pretty expensive, I am looking at those long horn Kuryakyn ones.. I just need to get my bars on first to see where I want my feet.

I just put on the Triumph highway bars on my 2005 classic and looked at the Triumph adjustable pegs. I found that the Kuryakyn #7993 pegs had the same range of adjust-ability and I got them on Amazon for $110 shipped rather than almost $200 for the Triumph parts. They seem to be a quality part and work well for me, 30" inseam good and comfortable foot position.

I guess I have shorter legs or something, did a week through Norway the other year and almost a week in Sweden last year and really had no issues with my legs on the R3T. Which is a good thing, saves me money and not sure I'm crazy about how highway bars look anyway. :)

You have a touring so at least you have some floor boards! The highway bars may not look super cool but the radiator should be protected against a tip over... that thing sticks out so wide!

yesterday i stuck a pair of kury longhorn dually pegs on the engine rail - no crashbar... need to adjust them a bit, but they seem to be just about where i wanted them to be and are pretty comfortable... the rail is 1inch...
