High Pitched Whine

I think the whine is very unique to triples as my trident had the same sound and other triumph triple owners bikes are the same. It gives a latent feel of power hidden deep in the fabrique of the bike waiting to be set free. I love it. :D :D Whe traveling down a motorway it the outside lane next to the crash barrier, the sound the is bounced back even with the quiet pipes (stock) that I like but it sounds awesome when traveling at 50-60 MPH. 8) 8)
It always makes me aquire a big grin, if you could see inside my lid I probobly look a bit touched in the head and should be put away. :D :D
I think it is characteristic of the way the cam chain is located out side the engine and not in the centre, its just some thing you get used to.

One thing I have found is if you hit a bunp you get a vibation for a second, I put this down to the cam chain running across the engine and not in the natural line of travel of the bike, only happens at certain RPM's. Any one else felt this. :?: :?:

LEEMO, that is the best explanation I have heard for the whine. When I took a long ride the other day, I paid close attention and is is not as bad as I thought. I believe my imagination, and some of the posts on this site, magnified it...

I thought perhaps a French man was smuggled inside somehow. When a French airliner lands and they shut the engines down, the whining does not stop 8)

That high pitched whine means you've run over a defense attorney and he's stuck between the radiator & front fender

Hopefully I can put about 100,000 more miles on my Rocket this year. It is good to know I can do something useful for humanity while having a great ride at the same time. Maybe my Rocket can develop a scream too.... :D

I am in Hawaii right now and one of the methods for commercial fishing used off shore is "long lining". I didn't know it could also be used from a Rocket for catching and dragging lawyers. Do you catch primarily defense lawyers for dragging or do you also bait for personal injury & medical malpractice lawyers? I think the best bait for those is a dollar bill.

A dollar bill will catch most of them. Put a siren on your bike and the rest will think you're an ambulance and follow you home
