I found a guy down in devon that remaps ecus and does the rocket so iv asked if he can run his program over mine to see if it's lost something or it's fried , hopefully then find out

That's best plan mate, give the ECU a scan, let the system talk to it, then you get right answer, I use a bloke up here in nottingham for dyno and tune

Some information on most all ecu's
They sre practically bullet proof.
They are made so that they will check there own circuits for example take the stepper motor if it has an open then it can set a code number for an open circuit if it has got a shorted circuit then it will set code for shorted circuit and just because that circuit is shorted doesn't mean that it will fry the ecu.
Most all the circuits in the ecu are protected from fools like me from touching a positive probe to a ground ecu.
Most ecu failures happens at the ecu grounded circuit probably because of bad solder joints.
Sometimes you can take the bad ecu ground wire and furnish an out side ground for example on an old Ford the ecu ground for tps, map and several other components failed so we took the grey with red wire and tapped into it and went to a good engine ground to repair an ecu that could not be found. On a chev we repaired a fuel pump ecu ground.
We also furnish positive and negative Voltage to ecus to test the ecu's however you cannot furnish a ground to coils ect because the ecu is doing that.
On the starting system the ecu checks all of the starting safetys the neutral, clutch switch ect then sends a signal from the ecu to the the starter relay to energize the relay so it is possible to furnish a ground to pin 85 and bypass all safetys.
If it is in gear it will take off.

mines In bridge mc exeter with one that's faulty .

Very few people know this
When you turn the ignition on and the gauges sweep and all the little lights light up that is checking the circuits and it will actually do this check with the ecu disconnected. So if it does not do this then you have a main wire problem or a gauge problem.

Cheers for that iv sent it to triumph as they are involved now trying to sort out ecu,
Iv said if it is A ecu and none available I will deliver bike to hinckley and they can have a very expensive paperweight ! it's only done 18k and full service history. That's why triumph has started to help in finding issues.
A few placed have looked at ecu and replied saying no can't do .
it's in triumphs hands now

I see everything is pointing to ecu, but i just wanted to chime in and say it could also be a ground somewhere in wiring harness, ive had to change one out because i was chasing gremlins. The grounds are done with metal bands, not soldiered and get full of corrosion and cause issues. About as rare as a failing ecu but i wanted to throw it out there for maybe the mechanic to atleast consider and maybe look into further, it takes alot of multimeter work to find issues in harness.

thanks for info ,, triumph main trouble shooting engineer is now involved , because if ecu they are a little embarrassed with a 18 yr old show winning bike will be wrote off and become a very expensive paperweight for them.
Iv spoke with them and wiring loom has been nearly removed to check .

I'm willing to lose 7k and dump it on there doorstep , it's becoming a joke with triumph original parts
