HELP-Less than 100 miles leak

Went out to the garage this morning and saw bodily fluid from my new Rocket. Almost 80 miles on it and there is a large puddle of bluish green liquid about mid way on the engine. Feels slick but does not smell like oil. ANY THOUGHTS please. Already called the dealer and they were no help. :shock:

That could be the greasy stuff they put on the engine for shipping. I had a bunch of that crap run off mine . . . after about 100 miles it goes away . .. Wipe it up, clean the engine off in those places . . . check your oil to make sure it's full and run it!

If it keeps leaving a puddle . . . you have a leak . . . I'd say it's just the shipping grease they put on it.

I sincerely hope it is the "cosmolene" crap. I did get it warm enough for the stuff to run off. I started to see it on the crankcase just under the oil resevoir after the first 50 miles. I will get a bright light out and inspect the lower case though, and check the oil. Does not look like Mobile 1 synthetic though.

I would appreciate any comments from other officiandos also. I know from reading this sight that there are MANY more knowledgeable than I.

Most likely cosmoslime Josey, they ship these Rockets across a large, salty pond. Like was said, check the oil level as per owners manual and go for a ride. Good weather forecast for the weekend.

I did test ride back in January on a brand new 06 R3 Classic and when I got back to the dealer the crap "cosmoline" was running all over the place. First thing I noticed and told the saleman, this things leaking already?!!! . .. he assured me they all do that when brand new.

You're safe . . . ride on Master Wales! :twisted:

Never had one drip from my bike, suppose it depends on how well the dealer cleans and preps the bike before delivery. :?

Mine done a water pump early in the peace,it leaked blue green water and coolant,check that the bolts are tight on the water pump

There's nothing to worry about, they should of washed your bike before they gave it to you. All that is, is packing grease it will drip off as you ride it more.
Thats why you smell that funk, when your bike gets hot it is burning off just wash it and ride a lot more..
