I was going to say that some of our members must be riding (or parking) in some pretty iffy areas.

I virtually never use my helmet locks and the very few times I'm unsure about my helmet staying with the bike, I either carry it with me or ask a storekeeper to hold it under a counter or store it in a back room out of their way.

I just prefer to lock things down for peace of mind. If you've never had yours messed with in 30 years, you're due? ;)

I'm more concerned about random pilferers who just grab it because they can. Plus, the worse things get financially in society (and it's not looking great) the more people will be inclined to thievery.

It's easy enough to lock stuff down and thus lower your risk. Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

I believe the Motone helmet lock will work but some fabrication might be needed. Trying to determine left side or right side purchase. I think the right side would be the way to go since the helmet would dangle on the left side.

Put a triumph sticker on your helmet, problem solved.

I always wear my helmet so I never lose it or forget to wear it.

I bought one of those license plate helmet locks. You can lock two helmets to it, I had it on my Bonneville but switched to a side shock mount lock. The license plate lock is pretty low on the R3R so my helmet is about 3/4" off the ground when its locked up.

That is not a good testamentary, Phil. Like I said earlier, I have used mine, on the last 3 bikes I've consecutively owned, so infrequently that they haven't had a good opportunity to fail like yours did.
