I have owned and ridden both, and it is my opinion that the horsepower difference between the two is not as noticeable as some may think. However (enter disclaimer here) it is just my opinion..... :whitstling:

Yes, the R3T is tuned for greater torque than the Roadster, but significantly less horsepower. That condition is relatively easy to remedy via retuning and/or a few minor mods or by treating any Rocket III that you might choose to either an exhaust or engine upgrade package from this shop, which in the opinion of most the cognoscenti, is the best of breed performance shop in this hemisphere for our monsters: http://www.carpenterracing.com/sbp_TRIII.htm

Yeah now that's what I am looking for, to make the R3T as powerful as the R3R thanks appreciate. Great!! now I wont sleep tonight feel like a kid the day before Christmas...

Hello I just got back and had a look and a ride on the bike, The one I mentioned was not available for me to test so ran to a near by dealer and got lucky tried one. I have 2 dealers within a 20 mile radius lucky me.

Anyway I am used to big bikes so no big deal, Got on it wouldn't turn over when it did would die and idle bad and turn off. Dealer told me needed break in and maybe a re-flash? Managed to start and keep revs up to keep from dying and after a few circles in the lot to get used to the weight and how it felt took off.

Very nice pull sounded great. Yup enough power and Tq is as much as I will ever need. Straight its a beast on tight turns its a fat lady got to take it easy. several times got me by surprise and front tire came up .

I can only compare to my Victory LE , I thought the suspension,Ride and corner handling was better on the Vic, But once you feel that straight line shot man its like a drug. I agree its superior in power to My Vic But I have tried other modded Vics that have just as much power. So I am still on the fence I have to set up a demo for the Rocket III roadster now, we will see shooting for next weekend.

The fit and finish are superb, the style is amazing and the look says get out of my way gonna run you over. I have to ask what issues can I expect? after speaking to some guys at the shop they told me little things like re-flash, resetting throttle and sometimes stalling, but those things are common on most bikes so I was not concerned.

I have the same tourer but an 08. Same color scheme. After owning a Yamaha Venture with 98 HP there is nothing that even comes close to the R3, whether its the "underpowered" Tourer or the Roadster. With all that torque on tap you aint gonna miss much. On the Tourer the torque comes in pretty early, below 2500 RPM so you barely need to twist the throttle.

Hello and thanks for your advice, I am getting the same comments from a few owners. After riding the tour and the Roadster, Its up in the air for me. I am leaning toward the roadster and am assuming I can place the same bags or even soft bags also. I love the dual lights up front it says get outa my way or gonna rip your head off mentality I don't see myself doing long trips as that was my intention with the Victory I have.

More mid level trips. The ride I did with the both bikes was short we were very limited how long and how far. I love the monster Tq that's what I was looking for but also want the top end which the roadster has. I want to take my time looking I do not want to over pay because I want this Rocket so bad.

I met a few guys on a few rides with both bikes and they are impressive just looking at them. Even though my Current Bike my Victory CR Classic is no slouch but is dwarft by the presence of a rocket monster.
