Head count for RAA - Wytheville VA 2017

Loading up tomorrow and heading off to see a friend in Monroe.
Then Saturday all day drive to Fancy Gap via 81 from Knoxville.
Might have to make a rest stop.
The bike is good, the truck is good.
I'm still slow but more confident.
Good adventure about to start.

Thanks for the insight @TO rocket and the advice. It's been an on and of problem for 30 year and although I'm only usually in it 4 hour and at most 12 hours.. it's still no fun. I have been free of it for years at a time. The problem is.... it is always out there hanging over my head. In general you don't run the risk of developing a clot until 24-36 hours after being in it. I know there has been great progress with the ablation in the last 15 years, so I am hoping to be evaluated for the procedure. I have to jump through a bunch of hoops before the insurance will cover it so it will be a slow process at best. My biggest problem is when it get into an uncontrolled rate of 160-180 BPM. Then it becomes a real problem of being short of breath, feeling weak and light headed. That I can not tolerate! Always that baby aspirin and a couple regular ones if I get in it. Lanoxin and Cardizem CD have been my drugs of choice for years to help keep me out of it. Anyway..Thanks

I am not a cardiologist and have little experience with long outcomes of Afib w and w out ablation but have seen plenty of stroke in an otherwise healthy man with arrhythmia, specially Afib. Fortunately this branch of medicine has it on the ball. It used to be that just a few knew how to deal with this seemingly obscure methods but the training centers have done a good job educating the interventional cardiology team. We continue to learn how to intervene efficiently.

My father suffered Afib for years and declined the ablation out of fear of the catheters. He succumbed to stroke. He was 90, worked hard and partied like a dog his whole life.

I was going to ride out to burkes garden while I was there, my father was from bland witch is right around there and we never got a chance to go together. He always said how much he liked it, so now is a good a time as any. Me and the wife will be getting there sometime Wednesday and looking forward to meeting some other rocket owners and getting some good advise .
