I don't think any of the metric v-twins even register in Harley's thinking, much less different configurations like Triumph. Harley exists in its own bubble. When they talk of increased power they are talking to the Harley faithful who will only compare the motor to previous generations. To the majority of them other makes exist for the great unwashed. You can throw all the horsepower numbers, torque numbers, quarter mile times, or any other measurement you choose at them and all you'll get is a glassy eyed stare. After all, you're not talking about a real motorcycle, so what's the point?
Its kind of like talking up a Ford to a lifelong Chevy fanatic. He'd rather sell his first born than drive a Ford.
