While fitting my 4th tire in 8500 miles, I decided to inspect my rear brakes. Stock rotor with EBC HH pads. Installed those pads at I think 4000 miles, aaaand they're nearly done.

Thinks it's just time I accept that I'm hard on wear items. OEM ears were DUN at like 4000, OEM front got swapped at 8000 for HHs, which were also DUN.

I can only imagine how fast I'd go through wear items on a wing or a R3T with the extra weight

Anyone else wear pads/tires at an alarming rate?

Rob - Tyres are EASY to shred. My front Metz lasted 7700kms and front Cobra 6300kms. Rear Metz also swapped at 7700. Went Darkside for a while but even that only lasted about 15000kms. Pads - still on originals. But I've always been light on brakes.

28k kms from my oem front pads and nearly 40k from the rear. But I turn 12 corners in a 150km daily commute. Since then I've had 2 sets of delta pads that didn't last 10k km between them now I'm on the ebc bandwagon and so far so good.

Also, I got 16k km out of the original rear metz and 22k from the front. The only reason I changed brands was grip.

Pads seem to last me about 5-7k miles. In music the rests can be as beautiful as the notes. On a motorcycle the braking can be as thrilling as the acceleration. I wouldn't try to conserve pads any more than I try to save gas. I'm in it for the full experience.

I do not think the extra weight would make much of a difference, try slowing down to under 120mpn and braking in a timely fashion and you might get a wee bit more life out of them.
And the 120mph Was referring to the corners
