i use the phat risers 11 with hardley cafe bars from flanders...
have a set of the phat 1's if anyone wants to try them... not being part simian like some here i needed more pull back of the 11's . way better beefyness and design than the rivco's Handlebar Risers, PhatRisers, & Riser Accessories
With doing the MSF rider courses, I wanted to try and get more involved with that. Working on a side-car class, and a short class on motorcycle pre-ride inspections. You would be suprised how little some people know about doing minor adjustments and checking tire pressures.
Just got the scooter back from service. Here's some pics of the Touring set up for the above average height set.
6" over screen
10" x 39" Burleigh Bars mini apes
Front dressers with kuryakyn pegs....at last....some room to stretch out !
one more thing to do....waiting for the stock dual seat to come back....getting the riders area moved back 2" and the passenger area curved down to better match the flow of the rear guard. This will be my 1 up seat. I'll use the gel seat for planned 2 up riding. The "chosen one" loves it.
I also ran into Wayne from Tuneboy at the dealers, and he is creating a new map. Didn't even know he was Aussie, Harry. 50% secondary butterflies in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and 100% in 4th and 5th. Fully open in all gears was a bit too severe (for me....sorry Harry), so he reckons this will give the perfect touring combination....

Closing the butterflies will certainly tame things a bit. However, has anyone mentioned that you don't have to crank that throttle all the way open in those lower gears?

hahahaha. The trouble with being 6'7" and 300lbs is that you can be a tad heavy handed, Harry. I'll never be a brain surgeon (even if my brain allowed it)
as an aside, I rode the hulk with the butterflies open and was getting an estimate of around 270kms to empty. I am now running it with the butterflies closed and am getting an estimate of around 270kms to empty (over a couple of tanks). Guess this shows how moderately I ride it !!!

**** son, we'll have to start calling you Pete and Repeat. At least if you ever drop the Rock you should be able to pick her up.
270 kms looks to be about 167 miles and that's about what I'm getting. My mileage was 40-42 mpg before I started tinkering, now its around 35 or so. Oh well, I guess there's always a price to pay.

All cables/electrics were ok bar the clutch. I ordered a longer one from Barnett but got sick of waiting for it so i rerouted the stock cable (as many others have done) on the riders side of the triple tree. (personally, I'd recommend disconnecting the clutch at the handlebar end...pretty straightforward...and spend a little time adjusting the freeplay to spec when you reconnect for reasons mentioned in another thread).
I haven't put the Barnett cable on as it sure looks flimsier than the stock Triumph cable. Need to do some checking......
Has anyone tried different bars on their bike and if so...what brand/model ? The only "fly in the ointment" right now for me is the bend of the stock bars. The grips are angled aft a bit more than I would like. I have some titanium hardware in my right wrist from an atv accident a few years ago and have noticed the stock bars cause me a little discomfort after a couple of hours.
Trying to get the bike ready for my first "Iron Butt" certification ride.
