Handlebar Speakers

This custom molded ear plugs with built in sound looks like an interesting option. Any suggestions where to get these?

Here's one source. You'll often find vendors at bike shows and dealer open house events selling the same thing. Bit of a pain since the good ones require you get custom fitted by taking a mold of your ears (any hearing place should do it for you). Often when they're at shows they can do it on-site and then send them off for you. Also, not cheap.

What about mouldable ear plugs, and adding a set of small ear buds to them while and or during the fitting to your ear before they harden? Sounds cheap enough to try. I have a set of moulded ear plugs for noise reduction. Thought they would work for shooting, but they are not very good. Could be my fault, but if you could get the ear buds in them, it seems like a good idea.

think I'll just listen to my motor purr, or roar when my new pipes get here.
I really like the sound of a Triumph Triple reverberating....
To me,,,, sounds way better than a potato bike.
Sorry I can't help with the sound system accessories,
not much into that or windshields....

Hey Stripes

Definately be interested in those speakers if you're looking to unload them. I sent you a PM, feel free to message me back

anyone use or hear the kuryakyn or shark audio sets? I've heard good things about the kuryakyn but the shark sets are nice and cheap.

Not much on handlebar speakers either.... especially irritating to some of us old codgers like me. When another rider in the same pack has really loud crap going, and if you aren't close enough to hear well, it can be very distracting if not irritating.

Get a Sena headset for your helmet and bluetooth it to your phone, you can listen to Pandora all day. This is what I use and works great, even with ear plugs in.

Got the Scalarider, similar concept. What I like about the setup is myself and my wife can listen to different music. She's not a fan of motorhead and I'm not a fan of whatever is on American Idol...

BTW, w/earplugs is awesome. Quiets the wind and improves the bass response.

I too have the Scalarider G4, you can pair wih another two sets and comunicate with those riders at distance and speed, it has a 3.5mm stereo jack for your MP3 player, blutooth audio and FM radio.
I you get one of these and you use a full face helmet, you might want to get the wired mic (Not the Boom) its just easier.

I have the Kury Sound of Chrome set. They are OK but are mostly useless above 65 mph. I like that the amp is built into the speaker housing but the downside is that it makes them fairly deep which makes fitting a challange. You have a lot more room on the Touring so it might not be an issue for you. On the Standard, there's hardly any room to mount anything and with the addition of a Corbin fairing, room is non-existant. I have since removed the kit and it is gathering dust. Might refit sometime in the future but not likely.
