If there are pits and such in the aluminium, it's worth remembering that you can in fact sand the metal down by wetsanding. I had to resort to that on mine. The result was excellent - first a coarser grit, then a very very fine grit, after which you polish away the remaining super fine scratches left by the wetsanding process. As long as you're working with untreated aluminium, that is.

The company I used is called Surf City Chrome. They specialize in Chrome wheels. After I got back my wheels I received a call from the owner. He wanted to make sure I was happy with my wheels. I have over 25,000 miles on my chrome rims and they still look new. No imperfections. $700.00 Total

No one has brought up chrome rims. I had mine done and it sure looks good. The price was about $700. I did it at tire change time, so no additional costs. Easy to keep shiny and clean. Only do it if you like bling!
I've thought of this for mine. Could you please post some good, up close pics of your wheels? I actually feel all giddy knowing that someone has actually done it. And I probably won't be able to sleep until I see the pics! Ha-ha!

Seriously though... Can you please post pics?

Sure can. I'll try to get the wheels posted in the next few days.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I hope you can see enough to help you to decide if this idea works for you. I just finished a 200 mile ride. Bike and wheels are not cleaned.

A lot of cleaners are corrosive and abrasive,I was using S-100 for awhile until it really messed up my spokes on my RK. I'd try spraying it with Simple Green 100% strength give it a good brushing rinse and repeat. I like the idea of chrome rims $$$...!

I am going to take some grief for this one, but in extreme cases I have found that the Yellow can of Oven Cleaner works miracles. Spray it on. Let it set for 10 minutes. Then spray it off. If brake cleaner does not do it this will. Yes sir folks a can of Oven Cleaner and Pledge will get your bike looking like new.

I was definitely hoping for better pics. But I do believe I've seen enough to know that I definitely want to do this. Thank you.

I'm assuming you're talking about the non caustic formula?
