Grinding when cold

I was going to add that I also had some chatter on an old bike and changing the oil was the fix. Wet clutch systems can be picky.
When you cut open the filter, of you do, use a set of snips. No saw. Rinse with gas and cut the pleats off the filter and open them up. Filter the diluted oil gas mix though a coffee filter. Anytjing more than pixy dust and there is an issue. Of its magnetic that's clutch disk, not ideal, it should be mostly non magnetic from the friction pads.
Imo unless there are larger than dust like pieces, think glitter or smaller, it's fine.

Update....all clutch plates and lifter are fine and plates are well within tolerance.
Oil pump chain seems ridiculously slack, but measure pitch and it's exactly where it should be.
No metal in the oil which was pleasing.
What was worrying was when rotating the clutch basket there was a definite cluckyness to it, in all gears....felt like something not engaging properly somewhere. Was ok if I rotated it quickly but a definite clunk when slow.
Took the entire clutch assembly out, all fine, replaced it....and magically, no more clunking...no matter what I did, I couldn't recreate it.
So I have no idea really what was wrong, but it somehow seems better than it was.
Once I've got gaskets etc and out it back together properly I'll see if it's still doing it.
