Greasing the driveshaft splines

Hiya Mike I have researched a lot as well and the Rocol is the only stuff I could source in the UK that was any good ideas agree with the loctite but with shipping costs etc moved me to try the Rocol , as Navigator says as long as we keep it greasy :)

Yes it's all overpriced I think. The Loctite 8012 I used cost me £50 from Brammer UK. I have since found I could get it cheaper shipped from the US. (too late now though).
According to the spec sheet it seems to be over 60% moly. I am now thinking as long as we lube up the splines regularly even the cheaper low content CV grease would do the job as it is ok for car drive shafts.
The Rocol seemed more expensive for the quantity you get but is also a good choice.

Any thoughts on this moly-lithium grease from Wal-mart?!

This guy I bought my rocket 3 off appeared to use water. 300 Klm’s after buying it I sheared the splines on the diff and drive shaft. It looks as though water has gotten in the Swingarm up top near the engine through the rubber boot. I know he did a lot of highway klms so maybe rainy riding has ‘injected’ water past the seal and at the bottom( diff end) water just buit up and diluted the grease and turn it into brown sludge...

I pulled the diff apart and found the inside like new. I now have a $2600 paperweight

I am talking to a guy in Perth at the moment who says if he has the right cutter he can make me a splined coupling hardened for Au$440 but I have to buy 10, who wants one.
Who wants to sell me their knackered diff???
Easy to change see my post entitled "Bevel box internels"

I take Mobil Grease SHC 222. Best grease ever for this purpose. It keeps my driveshaft splines in best condition for more than 200.000 km.
