Got jardines and tuneboy is on the way

Tuneboy and Jardine Exhaust

Splurter,
I have a similar setup to yours - '07 Rocket III Standard with Jardine exhaust and stock breather setup. My Tuneboy just arrived a couple of days ago. I used the tune Pig9r gave you, and the popping was significantly less on decel. Plus, I'm happy to say, I'm starting to build up some nice black soot in the pipes. The factory tune the dealership installed was so lean that, for the first 300 miles without Tuneboy, there was no visible soot buildup in the pipes. Being a long term Harley guy, I'm used to seeing 'em nice, black and sooty. Pig9r and others have loads of good info all over this site. Good luck, if there's anything I can do to help once you get your Tuneboy, just give me a holler.
Mike

Ive noticed that myself, my jardines have no soot inside so far, must be running pretty lean, Ive been a harley rider myself for years, i still have a 94 flstn, the 1340 is a reliable engine but lacks grunt, ive fitted a 127 cube el bruto, shes realy got some serious power now, Gotta love the rocket tho, Plenty of grunt straight from the factory, great value for money and looks mean.

Stop it!

I ran out and wiped my thumb in my Jars after 5000 miles and the dealer tune/stock air and she's clean.

I have been fighting the urge to monkey with the bike because she is so strong out of the box. She has always answered the call, never died, ridden @ 20F and 106F, gets +-30mpg so I can roll at least 150 before a fill. Why, why, why fock with it???

I feel a tuneboy in my future...

yea I'm afraid so Bill, me too.
That urge seems to be integrated into our DNA.
I don't want it to be stupid fast, just the best it can be for what it is.
But before a tuneboy, I gotta pay for my Mad Dogs.
Hopefully next week.:)

Welcome to the site by the way Splurter.

Bill,
Running the bike too lean can be some serious bad juju - in the extreme even burning a hole in a piston. Take a look at your spark plugs: black and sooty, too rich. Toasty brown, just right. White, too lean. From what I've read here and elsewhere, the Tuneboy is the best option. Loading up the right tune for your bike and deselecting the O2 sensor should get rid of the popping and have the bike running like it should.

Got my tuneboy a few days ago, loaded in tunejardine.dat that pig9r sugested i try, poppings almost completely gone, My bike seems smoother and the throttle seems heaps better, i will try another tune soon just to experiment to see if theres any more grunt to be had, thanks all for your help.
