Good bye Darkside

Did some homework on the Michelin Scorcher II before purchase. Yes it is made for Harley Davidson. It is the same tire they use on the V-Rod and some of the sport 1200. Michelin makes a Scorcher 31 and 32 for the touring bikes and cruisers. Tire has very few reviews but has been sold as a stock tire on respected bikes for a few years. It is not designed as a touring or cruiser tire but more or less a sport tire. Taking the advice from some members on here decided to go with a 140/75R17 for better handling. Saw the Scorcher II and figured why not. The Exedra Max was a no brainier. When I receive the tires and get them mounted believe me i will come back with a honest opinion. If it works out and handles well then wild card shot worked if not then I am out $157.00 dollars. Just food for thought tried a set of Pirelli Night Dragons on the Harley once and it was by far the worse set of tires I have ever purchased. Nothing ventured nothing gained.:whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling:

I have run Michelin commander's on my 2010 Fatboy (bought New) for the last 40,000 plus miles. (87,000 total miles) One of the best tires i have ever run on any bike. The Michelin Scorcher was designed for the V-rod and sporties 1200. Leans more toward a sport tire than the Commanders. May not get a lot of miles out of it but it should be a blast on the Rocket. Really do not give a #ats #ss if it says Harley on it. Matter of fact it should add to the entertainment when you blast pass them on their own equipment. Very soon my pipes from Paul should be showing up. Full system 3 into one. Believe you are running the same set up? Been reading the same and figured before the pipes show up might as well go for it and try the smaller front tire along with the Exedra Max. Have 28,000 on the Rocket X (bought new) and have already went through a set of Avon Cobras. The Avon's were standard size and did OK but at low speeds the front would shake a little. Cold weather they sucked. Went to the Darkside out of curiosity. Never had a problem with air pressure ran the tire around 31 PSI. Really liked the way the Darkside ran on the open rode but when it came to around town and rough roads it sucked. Running a Dunlap III up front and trusted it in tight corners but the car tire really made me nervous in a tight turn. I plan on upgrading the back shocks and springs up front at the same time (Ordered progressive springs and Wilber shocks). New to the Rocket and took some time to understand and read about all the different modifications that can been done. Cost effect verse fun factor should have a sweet set up. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Interested to know what you ran for the dark side? Like mc tires, car tires can and do handle differently.
I'm on the Goodyear Advantage Tripletread. I had the oppertunity to try one gor about 250 miles before I bought one. Had it on my last 4 bikes. Two Suzuki vl1500's and 2 r3t's. I've racked up over 70k on them.
I used to live in Az, so been on a few twisties on them. On the suzuki's I could get both sides down just about any time I wanted. Scared the wife a few times!
I even got "spark close" on my first r3t a couple of times. She's much taller than the suzuki though, so I'm not quit as brave (plus, I'm 9 years older and smarter). Besides, not as many twisties here in Fl. and definately not as many mts.!

I see you have a 1967 Yamaha 100. Would that be a twin jet ? Always liked those. Worked on one a few times in my youth :inlove
