No no no you have me all wrong mate I'm sure it's a great fit for you . No problem with that . I'm saying I don't like this stuff me just me personally it's not for me . If it works for you and where you ride and the purpose of which you ride than obviously it's the rite fit for you and it means nothing what I think or say . Really don't take offence to my opinion at the end of the day you ride in a different part of the world and for different reasons so you enjoy doing it however you enjoy it that's whats important . If you looked at my bike and said I don't like this or that I wouldn't give a rats or be offended becoase it's mine and I ride it where and how I like . Safe riding:)

Fairly sure I don't buy a bike or accessories worrying about weather it would be good for someone else's taste or style or country of origin it's about what I like and fits me . Why are you taking this as a personal attack on you ?? I'm stating My Opinion on what I like for Me . You can ride whatever the hell u like its no concern of mine .

It could be, but not for the majority on North American big cruiser riders. Most of them want ".................my MTV!".

One thing I have learned while living over here is that a lot of Americans (not all of them) like bikes it is a massive market for motorcycles and anyone who is anyone in the bike world is over here now to the average American rider
(40-65 yr old) they want comfort when they ride, big bikes, big suitcases on the big bikes, big handlebars that can hold everything from remote controls ,radios, heated acces, air bag buttons massive soft seats, heated everything etc etc etc.
Each person has a different taste we all know that, me personally would not enjoy a ride if I could not feel the wind hitting me or be able to enjoy the scenery without the Bay City Rollers blasting in my ear if it rains I get wet if it is cold I put more layers on(although I do own a heated vest and glooves so I am part cupcake)
Europeans and Aussies I believe do not go so much for the creature comforts but for the pure joy of riding two wheels on the open road. (plus a lot of them cannot afford it:D)

Dave's right.
A LOT of older folks on bikes over here, want a winnebago on 2 wheels.
Hence the large number of GoldWings and Harley drluxe whatevers ya see on the road.
i like to hear my motor, smell the flowers, see the scenery,
and take my chances with the weather.
It all comes down to personal preference.
it's all part of the expierence.
Guy in town here has a beautiful GoldWing w/ every option.
never goes further than 20 miles from home, but he loves his bike.
me? mine ain't even warmed up at 20 miles,
but different strokes for different folks right?
Dusty Rose likes her windshield and beetle bags,
I wouldn't enjoy my bike so much if I had all that stuff on mine.
But hey, that's what makes the world go round right?

I second that . beside when you see the roads available for the enjoyment of riding in europe you realize a goldwing or any large touring rig is not the best choice anymore .
typically you have no time to listen to music you have no time for cruise control, you are one with your machine leaning right left right and the scenery takes your breath away now if you should decide to do the straight four lane highway bit , head on to germany there some sections are without speed limit so you can check to see if your goldwing will do 220kph or not . then stop somewhere it is time for hoegaaarden (wheat beer) and bratwurst..

whats funny is when I look at pic's from the rally's I see Rockets all set up for touring...
big saddle bags ,trunks ,gps, cruise control, big windshield, after market seat....
and i see lot riders using mp3 players..
some really good looking winnebago on 2 wheels..I think any way ;)
