Hello all,
Picked up my new R3R about two weeks ago now, it had about 600km on it when I picked it up. It has about 1500km on it now, had my 1000 km service not so long ago. Thought I would check to see how my fuel economy was going.
I was mightily impressed, I did 267.7km on 18.35lt.
According to the economy calculator my beast is doing 6.85 lt /100km, or 41.24 MPG (IMP) or 34.34MPG (U.S), or14km per litre.
I can only presume that as she gets more run in the economy should get slightly better.
How does this compare to other members bikes?

Easy Tiger....
Way to many numbers....
Yes it is pretty good until you open it up to make it sing.
Where abouts in Brissy are you again?

I had a run 2 weeks ago....365 km on the tank with the range showing 60 km when I filled up. It was a medium fast cruise on the hwy. Last weekend I killed a tank in 240 km and almost had to push it to the gas station but my speed was higher than the ride the week before. Bottom line at normal speeds the engine is loafing and gets very respectable mileage but if you crank it you have to pay for that power.....its not free but it is certainly worth it!

G'day Torki ,6.5 sounds about right for cruising around ,until I had mine (R3T) derestricted it was averaging about 6/7 L/100k now with the taps opened up it consistently uses 7/8 L/100k but goes 100% better!:D

Filled up this morning just over 12 litres for 200 klm :)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...Rocket 3 and fuel economy cannot be used in the same sentence.
+1 if you have to worry about fuel economy you shouldn't own a Rocket but seriously you will unless you have self control it will only get worse as you get used to the power you will only use it more ... it is that addictive

Anywhere between 6 and 10 litres/hundred kms seems "normal" for me. Round town I pretty consistently get 180kms out of 18 litres, but I'm still just getting used to it so probably turn the right hand a little more than I should. On the highway if I was being really calm I could conceivably get close to 400km from a whole tank. OK, OK, who am I kidding. This is early days though (just 70,000+kms), and I'm sure I'll settle down a little in due course. :D

I have been a global warmer since 1965 and the only reason I check fuel consumption is to make sure I can make distances between fuel stops ,
