front fork seals

I'm going to try this! My seal only leaks sometimes so this may be helpful.
+1 for a thread on changing a seal. Or should i replace the forks completely?

Please let us know your results.
I carry one on board; however, have not needed it - so far!
I have been told by a couple shop mechanics that quite a few are the result of some dirt/grime and not the actual seal.
Just sayin' . . .

Can someone point me to a quick guide or doc on how to change the fork springs? I don't have a manual but am looking to give this a whirl this weekend. OR tonight.

Thanks in advance!

Have a look on YouTube about upside down forks but you will need to make or buy a fork Spring compressor and the little fork type tool to slide on the damper rod.

Awesome!!! Thank you!!! Is it as easy as it looks? Doesn't look too bad...

I haven't done it yet, but will be changing to the progressive springs when i recover financially form all the other upgrades/maintinence i have & or will be doing

send a PM to Patrick @albertaduke - He has spring compressor tool that he will loan to you & you just pay the shipping to you & from you

Yes it is as easy as it looks. You will however need an extra pair of hands and a 12 pack of beer of choice

Can the springs be changed with the forks still on? It looks like one could but i can't tell for sure. Is there an easy way to do this?

I used my seal mate numerous times before I did my fork upgrade, usually after a trek down a dirt road. I haven't needed it since I added new seals, but I'm sure eventually I will. Thing is a life saver!
