From Tiger to Roadster?

Stirling Moss swears by scooters too! I see the appeal in just above walking pace traffic, when I commuted in London I was lucky and had shifts, a very early start so missed most of the traffic from Hounslow to the old West London Air Terminal on Cromwell Rd (I used to work for British Airways on their res system), was fun on the way in in a Cat 7 or an older Lotus Elan at 6.30am, home in the PM was different as the traffic was murder to Hammersmith, then foot down - that was earlies, lates and nights were a breeze, but these days I would not work in London for love nor money, not unless I lived right beside the job. I don't know how cabbies do it, it wd drive me bonkers (more than I already am) in no time!

I got the part about ease of use, great mileage, dependability...but you lost me on "weather protection" (cheekgrin) unless since you are moving thru a little (or a lot) faster you will get home sooner and not be as drenched in the rain.

beemer scooter

this BMW scooter is special as you MUST clip on cross safety belts to ride it but you do not need to wear any helmets.. not the most popular scoot in europe.

Pay no attention ... Daryl is a self admitted R3 hater nowdays. The turncoat. lol
If he didn't secretly wish he still had one, he wouldn't hang around an R3 website right?

Bye the way, I commute 80 miles round trip in Philly I-95 traffic 50% MINI Cooper and 50% R3 based on weather alone. I rely on the instant torque to save my ars every time I'm out there. Downshifting-be-****ed !

I don't live in LA anymore but rode my Trophy to work in rain especially due to the flooding roads. The Rocket needs air flow to be happy and stop and go is not it's forte'. I alter routes to avoid traffic even in this little burg. Many more scooters are appearing over here and if gas is a factor....

Guys thanks for you thoughts. I ha my test ride in rain and drizzle and heavy London traffic. Despite the size and noisy gearbox I couldn't resist the R3R. Matt black version sue late April. I I can't handle the commute I'll get a scooter. But somehow I think I am going to love sitting on the Rocket everyday!

Cheers Chris

What is theese "negotiating" to buy a Rocket III Roadster of which you speak??? I know you will be doing the transaction in pounds but I wonder what that translates into dollars at?

I got £3750 for my Tiger (sept 2007 with 21k miles on the clock but in good condition). The Roadster was £12k with accessories but they did a deal to mean I had to find £7.5. I hope that helps.

Cheers Chris
