First ride on a rocket what were your impressions

Turned out that every time I had put my feet on the boards I had caught the heel change & notched it up a gear

I took me about two days to finally just unbolt the whole heel shifter thing from the shifter and it was a huge relief. All that floor board space recovered, and no more temptation to stomp on the pedal instead of more delicately use the toe to click up or down.

Mine was not the same as others. After reading about how it would wheelie at the tiniest twist of the throttle, try to rip your arms out of your sockets, burn through a tire a week and tons of other things you normally hear about the most beastly bike on the road. I straddled it, twisted the throttle and said....meh, what is the big deal about?

Then I dropped in Wayne's tune and woke up another 30 ponies, that made it much more of a grin inducer. As we journey down the road together I am sure there are a few more ponies lurking in that engine just waiting to be released, all I need is the dollars to feed the beast to let them out.

Mine was a lot like yours Bob I went down to ride this bad beast that no one could tame so I have heard having 2 turbo bikes in the stable at the time zx14r and busa I was expecting a lot more the dealer sent me out on the R3T as that was what I was looking for to replace my wing and I came back dealer said so how was the tq and power I said what is everyone talking about its better than hd but not the impressive he said take the roadster out so I did it was better a guy was there from OH with his he said take mine for a ride I didn't know him and didn't want to but he pushed me to so I did he had quit a few upgrades Jars K&N and I don't know what else and it was a lot better I wish I would have got his name but didn't I bought the touring and ordered the Jars and everything else yes there fast and have a lot of tq for there size so I will keep it but for drag racing the not the best

Holy Crap ! Then the thought of the sales guy telling me to go easy for the first 500 miles followed by, SCREW THAT, lets see what it will do on the Cleveland Autobahn :) followed by holy crap (cleaned for family viewing)

Took a roadster for a test ride and the dealer made me use a helmet. The bike didn't have a windshield and the resulting force of air pulling on my helmet and twisting on my neck left me with serious pain but a never ending grin. Couldn't stop smiling. Gotta say one of the best handling, powerful, ready to ride anywhere,(even gravel) bikes I've been on.

I was riding a Honda VTX1800 before the R3 so I was used to a fair bit of power. I'll never forget the first time I rode my R3 and the front wheel lifted in second gear:eek:. No other bike, cruiser at least, can prepare you for the torque and acceleration of these things. Just about the only good thing about winter is that I get to ride it again, for the first time. every spring.

I have not been on a bike that so desperately wanted to remove my arms from their sockets. Violent, unabashed, ground enveloping torque monster! It covers ground at a frightening rate. I would not recommend this to a novice. This is a man's bike. (I am of course of the knowledge that a woman can ride one) it is just a very aggressive motorcycle.

I, too, rode VTX 1800s before the Rocket III. Where my big, bad 1800 started to fizzle out above 120 mph, during that first R3 test ride, back in Fall of 2004, as I approached that high speed fun zone the bike spoke to me. And this is what she said...

... so I did and have continued to do so, awestruck by this machine's capabilities ever since!

We went for a group ride from Essex into Suffolk and Norfolk last August checking out some bike shops. One of them had an R3 standard with the triple TORS so I phoned up and booked a test ride just for a crack. I came back a jibbering wreck, just had to have one. I can only afford one bike so out went my beloved Evo Roadking which suddenly I didnt belove so much any more and in came my 2010 R3R. There really is no comparison of any kind between the Roadster and a Harley, it is the ultimate muscle cruiser.
