First ride my Carpenter Rocket

I have made a decision, it will be a Carpenter 240 kit.

My main concerns were a loss of torque in the mid range, which seems to not exist with Carpenters higher compression kit. I think their higher compession would compensate for the fact that most of my riding is done at high altitude.

I also like the idea that their HP is generated via torque and RPM. Less chance of drivetrain dammage than with a blown engine making the same HP at a lower RPM utelizing massive torque that probably can't be used anyhow.

I am not looking for extremely high speeds, honestly 130 or so is plenty for me. If I could get there in 8 seconds on a bike that is still a good daily driver, that would be awesome.

In all honesty, I won't do the Carpenter build until next winter. This winter I plan on repainting and doing some powder coating. In the meantime I will also ditch the stock exhaust and go with Carpenters and will also add triple k&N's. In fact, I'll be adding the 2780's next weekend.

I realize that Carpenter uses Tune-Boy, so I will need to get that. At present I am using TuneECU.

Can someone tell me if Carpenter also requires anything from Power Commander?

I am heading to central IL later this week to visit family for a couple weeks. Hoping for some decent riding weather. The metzler has a little rubber left on it and my riding season of over here in the Rocky's.

Yes the Use the tune boy, PCV it is only needed for two reasons one can easily be eliminated by using larger injectors the other is most tuners do not use tune boy and are acustom to Power commander units. The best tuner between you and I that uses tune boy is in Minniapolis MN. I have his contact information. When you change tire go with the Exedra Max it definetly holds up better I have a 2800 miles on the max and it is just starting to get a little flat spot on it. But I have done a few burnouts and do have a traction problem every now and then:rolleyes:
