First gear falls when it starts to move

I have some trouble.

When I stop bike, and try to gear down first gear neutral lights off, I start to moving, but first gear will fall to false neutral.
If I gear down first gear when I move with bike before lights, I heard right sound of firts gear "click" and everything si ok.

When I want to move from stop, I must hold gearshift down and little move with bike with clutch and then I feel that gearshift is "click" on right funkction.

If I try to manipulate with clutch, I find setting, when Fist gear not falls, but I cant gear neutral. It´s normal?

Triumph 2008, 4000mil.

I always gear down while the bike is still moving..works better that way..downshift with authority on the foot pedal, especially to first..make sure your clutch is adjusted properly too..2-3 mm free play at the hand lever end..

As Ian said another easy way to check is with the clutch lever out the ferrel is up against the splined adjusting shaft like below



then pull the cable out and measure the gap between the ferrel and the knurled adjusting shaft like below



some people find this way easier.

Mine was like this with low klms but it got better after the bike got to 20000klms

Thanks to ALL!

I try set right clutch adjustment and now is first gear OK!! Gear neutral is little hard, but still "gearnable"

Second problem was missing nuts in the end of clutch in second adjustment in clutch control on motor.

So thanks to all, now I have big problem with "twitching I get 50-60% gasL, but I start no topic.

I am confused as to what nut you are refering to? is it the large knurled one up on the handle bar?
