Final drive - bevel box breather removal

if u should get it apart and fix it i think that u should torque those 6 bolts to about 50nm torque.
now i have been shut down for this idea i am about to type
there may be or may not be a hole in the front of the final drive just above the inside lower stud that may let motor oil drain from that tube.
a good pic of that area would prove me right or wrong.

Okay, I will check for the motor oil drain hole.

But I have drained and re filled.

Measured what came out, pretty close to 170ml, but not more.

Have refilled and we will see.

I have to say that I think it had pretty much stopped leaking, what was still coming out was probably what was inside the hub.

Have given it a good clean too, but used the air compressor to blow into the breather.

Fingers crossed,

Remove the plastic trim. Grab the breather with a pair of vice grips and work it back and forth. It will pull out.
Have you removed a breather? My chrome top broke off long ago and I want to replace it. Triumph doesn't even have a procedure for it.

Have you tried to remove that? I have not.

Now... when I drained mine the first time it looked like it had been needing change for a looong time. It is so easy to change and it takes so little that it makes no sense not changing it with every motor oil change.

There is nothing like good clean oil to prolong the life of these units. The engine needs it too and I change all the oils together regardless of mileage just to help longer service life.
