2014 Rocket III Roadster
with the roadster the riding position is leaning forward (however in town i notice i lean back this could compound issue i am about to talk about)

I've had mine since 2015 and lately having issue mainly with my right hand the rocket isn't a light bike and the right is responsible for the throttle and front brake. After riding about a day or two later it gets a little harder to make a fist- anyone else has/had this issue.

I've tried gloves/gramp buster etc. the issue appears with stop and go which taxes the right hand. This may eventually cause me to part with this awesome motorcycle...
 
I had a problem with hand numbness and tingling in my hands after 50 or so miles of riding for as long as I can remember. Nothing seemed to help for years and years. Then I put grip puppies on my 14 Rocket and it seemed to help a great deal and currently have them on my 20 Rocket. My hands still get a little tired but no numbness or tingling sensations anymore. I also concentrate on not griping the grips so hard as I have a tendency to do when I accelerate and then when I level off I make myself release my white knuckled grip. It works for me anyway. I have above average, but not huge hands. I found the grips also the source of my issues.
Larger diameter plus one of these on tours completely solves it. Have done over 500 mile days without issues using it. I don't like the bigger ones, just the little rubber so you can rest your hand to hold throttle position instead of needing to grip to hold throttle position.


For me, it had nothing to do with hard/soft grips, I use the Rizoma Sport 1", they have zero padding, just aluminum grips and with the above the pair never cause a tired/numb hand issue.
 
A a last resort the throttle locks will relieve the pressure on your wrist
if you pull in the clutch the engine will rev just enough to scare you.
will take some time to master it.
i am thinking just enough pressure so you work it during shifts.

You can try what many have suggested before in a different post.
Things such as risers and straight bars however the story I'm about to tell you cost no money.
My friend has a roadster, he was suffering from the same issue, so he lowered the handlebar simply by rotating it back towards the rider. When I also complained about my wrist and hand going numb, he suggested that.
So before we went together on a long ride, we took the #6 I brelieve and loosened 2 of the bolts, rotated mime slightly... Boom the pain was reduced by 90-95 precent and no numbness in my hand whatsoever even after 500 km run.
So Give it a try, I hope it helps you like it helped us.
PS: Rotate it into different positions til you find your wrist's sweet spot.
re tighten the bolts really well every time.

really appreciate the feedback everyone; i'm going to try these slip on grips i think just the hex key to remove the silver ends will make it easier to put on. I believe most of the issue is leaning back riding position in town perhaps with the extra wind because i removed my windscreen/shield because i can see more and less cleaning etc. So that wind compounds the pressure against and perhaps causes issues with the fingers due to increased pressure. The right middle finger esp.(jokes aside) but it causes an issue with making a closed fist isn't quite as easy as it was in the past.
 
That is exactly the symptom I had, middle finger and thumb acting up. I was 38 when I identified it, and I had (at the time) very high grip strength. For me, it was the prolonged time holding 1 level of grip force in the same position for a long time + vibraation.

My H2 doesn't have the same issue, the return spring is so light I can just rest my hand in place and it stays open with an open hand.

Moving bars up/down/forward/back will reposition the arm, possibly alleviating the strain on the inner-forearm (where grip power is generated) through angle manipulation, as mentioned.

You'll find a solution, the bikes too **** good to swap out over such a small thing
