Nah! seriously, I work things so that payments are split into three payments, the first 1/3 at placement of order, the 2nd 1/3 when I've finished building the system, it is at this stage that I send it out to be coated/chromed etc. Then the final 1/3 on delivery.
I've found that this works very well for the Customer as it spreads the payments out over a period of time (this dependent on my work load at the time)

Sorry, yes the bike had to be retuned, but it was done by my dealership. There is a tune for aftermarket exhaust they put in and works good. I think Hanso tune would be better, but mine is a 14 still under full warranty. So I don't want to mess with the computer just yet. I already had that tune when I pulled the baffells out. That is where I did not notice too much difference.
Thanks Troy. I'm just trying to learn. I don't want to mess anything up. I have a 2013 with only 7,500 miles on it. My R3T runs beautifully, so far. I only want that to change for the better. Or, I'll just keep it the way it is. Thanks for explaining some things to me... Russell

Mr. Paul this thread was asking about my pipe not yours but I see you commented on my set up or should I say bad mouthed it. Have I interrupted a thread about your pipe no, have I bad mouthed your pipe no, so why are you doing that to mine. Yes it has a stainless steel flex pipe, that helps mount it easier and keeps my cost down that I pass on to the customer. Who want to pay $1000 to $1600 for a pipe and still get the same performance for around $400 that would be a down payment for yours lol. By the way 2 of the guy's you talked to went with my pipe.

Now now Guys both pipes are fine looking pipes and I would be proud to have them on any of my Rockets, it all comes down to customer preference and true with some people cost plays a big part on which one you will choose.
Keep it clean guys no bad mouth en any one else s product as you both put out outstanding work.

I'm buying Dain's exhaust, ( not because I've heard anything bad about anyone else's equipment ), and NOT to save money, but because I've heard such great things about Dain and his system. Having spoken with Dain, I can confirm, Dain is a really great guy. Friendly and helpful. I'm sure other equipment fabricators are nice too, but I just happened to read about, and hear about Dain first. Everyone compliments him. Look.... In America "competition" is a good thing. Right? Friendly competition. With smiles on our faces. Everyone wins. The customers, and the fabricators. Ya'll should be happy. I know, I am. The politicians always tell us that "competition" is what we need more of in this country.

Well said Scotty, and I agree, but I do have to address a couple of Mr Dains points.

First of all Mr Dain, you have to compare apples with apples, you're comparing your $400 muffler with a what ? $1600 what ? Complete system ?
How about comparing my "slip on system" priced at US$540.00, this with a proper attachment to the stock header, a laser cut, powder coated mounting bracket, shaped and chrome plated heat shield, clamp etc. A complete kit.
Your statement about using the stainless flex pipe is just an excuse for not putting the effort in to have an accurate, quality mounting system.
Cutting corners is what "cost cutting" is.

I'm afraid that your system looks a little cheap to me, is this really the standard of your work ?
It kinda looks like it was cast down on the beach somewhere ?

And honestly do you have any idea just how long an "air tight" joint between a stainless flexxy hose and an alloy casting will last ?
It's quick, it's cheap and it will work. . . for now. But what about lets say, just 1000 miles down the road.

Re your statement "By the way 2 of the guy's you talked to went with my pipe"
No problem, each to their own. There is plenty of room in the market for those to choose a high end product, or yours.
As Scotty has said, cost is a factor for many, I can certainly appreciate that.
You do seam a little insecure here.

As Russel said "Competition" is a good thing. But for there to be "Competition" the market has to be aware of what else is out there.
That is all I was doing by making my post here, not bad mouthing you, that's what Politicians do and FFS haven't we all seen enough of that crap that's going on out there now !

I don't mind standing back and letting the Guys out there decide for them selves, as I say I am busy, with a lot of work on, so good luck to you.

dain dain dain... yet again you claim that your simple and abet crude muffler only provides gains of what was it 40-50 hp... you need to post up before and after dynos for any type of credibility. paul fabricates mufflers and header systems that are 10 out of 10.. i built hundreds for the rockets and his level of fab is well... fabulous and yep i would know :) he could teach me a thing or 3 about fabrication... if only they didnt do that weird sheep thing down there.
