So, Troy, please tell me? If you've got your Rocket all tuned up, and running well, and then you remove your baffle, what happens? How does your Rocket run, after you remove the baffle? Louder? Yes, I'm sure, but what about idle, acceleration, top end speed, and low end torque? Do you negatively affect any of your performance parameters? I want my Rocket louder, but I have been told that some back pressure is necessary, and if the baffle is removed, my bike may not run so great afterwards. I've been told that the exhaust gases need to push against something for the bike to run well, and the baffles are what the exhaust flow push against, for back pressure. So, how does your Rocket run, with the baffle taken out? Thanks... Russell
I did not notice too much difference in performance, but the sound is much better. It has the low rumble, and when you hit it she comes alive! I left my pipe long so the sound is not right in my ear or my wife's. Just like any other exhaust there is a little more piping noticed due to the lack of suppression, but it is way better.

So, Troy you didn't have to re-tune, or re-map your Rocket at all, after taking your baffles out? Your bike adjusted to it, without you performing any other tasks? And, your bike still runs strong? And, still idles okay? Wow! That would be great, and I would leave my pipes long too. Since I'm riding a Touring model, I would not want.to melt my saddlebags, but I've been told to expect to have to make other changes, if I yank my baffles out. I've been told that I may have to be prepared to re-tune, or re-map my Rocket, and that the air/fuel mixture may be thrown off and need a recalibration, if I pull my baffles out. So, tell me more Troy, please, ( if this is not true ), because I'd really like to remove my baffles, as long as I won't be opening a "can of worms", leading to a lot of other complications. Thanks Troy... Russell
Sorry, yes the bike had to be retuned, but it was done by my dealership. There is a tune for aftermarket exhaust they put in and works good. I think Hanso tune would be better, but mine is a 14 still under full warranty. So I don't want to mess with the computer just yet. I already had that tune when I pulled the baffells out. That is where I did not notice too much difference.
I figured so due to the length
BTW, I really would like to get your system, including header at some point - if Santa Clause will accommodate me in a not so distant future Christmas

Nah! seriously, I work things so that payments are split into three payments, the first 1/3 at placement of order, the 2nd 1/3 when I've finished building the system, it is at this stage that I send it out to be coated/chromed etc. Then the final 1/3 on delivery.
I've found that this works very well for the Customer as it spreads the payments out over a period of time (this dependent on my work load at the time)
