Went for a wee run(about 10miles) with my new sidewinder exhaust , stopped at the five mile mark and hit the pipes with my heat gun, close to the connection at the head all three pipes were within 10deg of each other with the highest coming in at 610f as I moved down the pipe naturally the pipe got cooler.
Is it hot without heat shields yes it is, did I expect it to be yes I did, I am now doing what I used to preach to my old girlfriends(if you cannot figure that one out ask Nat):D

Not knocking anything but motorcycle boots are not my cup of tea i would rather fry my leg than wear them. now a nice heat shield set up would be nice but it would have to look good, with the different temps with the various pipes I wonder if the material used in the construction plays a factor?

Just got back from a eighty mile dinner ride with a few friends, and very surprised I did not even notice the heat when the bike is moving, even at stop lights or traffic lights it is not bad and the outside temp is close to 100f.
so not even interested in looking for any heat shields :D all is well :D

Well Guys, I'm just back from a four day ride, needed some time out !

My riding over the past four days has been a mixture of cruising quietly at the speed limit, and absolutely thrashing the teets of it.
I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES AT ALL with heat NONE.
I have NO heat shields.

Heat is lean.
This bike of mine goes like a scolded Cat and I do not ***** foot around, I have the same header as you guys.

I have the Roadster footrests on my bike, so my right ankle is right up against the rear brake Reservoir, I'm wearing ordinary Black Levi jeans and ankle high boots, no extra "heat" protection.
Leaving the other day I though that I would take particular notice of the heat, I had no problem.
Others have told me that they have had no heat issues either.
35 sales before you Guys came along have not reported back to me ANY heat issues.

On this trip I averaged 36.56 M.P.G. (Imperial Gallons)

Not bad - not bad at all. My Fuelbot has me at 7.85L/100 on the whole. Close.

I did a deliberately legal run last week and got 6.6 - 43MPG (Imp). But in my defense I had a busted tooth and a walloping headache.
