Exedra Max + Michelin Commander 2 + GO PRO2

$219 at Cliff's Cycle in Bremerton, WA and $35 to have it mounted. It is getting very difficult to find a dealership here that will mount a tire purchased from another source. To me the Max has it all over the Metz. After having the Max installed I rode up to British Columbia to do a little touring and loved every mile of it. To me it is huge improvement over the Metz. I look forward to replacing the front Metz when the time comes.

And BTW, riding in BC is incredible.

have you done the cascade just south of the border ?

I be not Navigator here; but, I have ridden the North Cascade Highway many, many times.
Highway 20 runs east from Sedro-Woolley, WA to Okanogan, WA., then runs north to Tonasket, WA, then east to just south of Ione, WA, then south to Newport, WA.

The most popular section is between Sedro-Woolley and Twisp, WA; but the entire road is beautiful, fun and WELL worth riding.

I am about to finish up the riding season and thought I should report on this Tire combination. Well, after 6,500 miles on the Bridgestone and 4,500 on the Michelin with all types of roads, interstate, 2 lane back roads , twisty's and even dirt roads. Overall, this has been the BEST upgrade I have done in my 27,000+ Rocket 3 miles.

Good:
1) The handling has much improved. Yes, it does feel like the bike lost 125+lbs.
2) This improved response did pretty much save me when I road into a herd of deer last month. I had to do a 5 deer cone weave at 35mph. Pretty tense seconds, that was. I am pretty sure that the Metz would have Not been able to pull that one off.
3) No tire changes this year .. saved $$$ and time.
4) With less input required, I do a lot more canyon roads then before. I don't feel that I have had a major work out after the run. A lot of surprised looks from several squids.
5) There was no increase of floor board scrapping even though bank angle felt greater.

Bad (nit picking)
1) Yes, there is a very slight loss of comfort on the interstate. The Metz do feel more like balloon tires there. Not a big thing… I hate the freeway and avoid it at all costs.
2) TIRE pressure in the front did lose 5 lbs over 1000 miles. You can feel the difference and although not a big thing, it was noticeable on familiar roads. Just check it every other ride and all will be well. The back held pressure a lot better then the Metz ever did. No adjustment at all.
3) The Gap is noticeable with the front fender. I had 1 person ask about it. But it is cosmetic. I get at least 10 "why 3 tails pipes? Did you lose one?" for every tire question.

So, I would classify this as a "try it! you will really like it".

As far as the last gopro2 video, here is my latest one from last week. It was taken by Sun Valley Idaho (vacation). I put the music on that I was listening to, which happens to be the same as before, I match up the music after the ride. The song is : Time to rock …Cigar Store Indians. I did spot an antelope at the 2:14 on the right. I slowed and he decided not to cross the road after all. Can you spot him?

I took the pictures at the end. And the Bear I was stand next to is over 12 feet tall. That is also the GF next to me, she is just a little thing……

Ride safe everyone!!!!
