Ride
2020 TFC #385, 2014 R3 Roadster 230hp (BRUTUS)
Went for a ride on Saturday and it pissed down rain...
After the rain I noticed the speedo was moving around a fair bit but only going up to the speed I was traveling..
Would/could this be water in the speedo itself or in the speed sensor.
I have a 2010 Roadster.

Thanks in advance

the speed sensor may have water in connector or may have metal attached to it on the inside or it may have just went bad. because of the magnetic pulses they tend to go bad and also have a habit of not working at low speeds then when u get to say 15 mph the speedo pops up and starts reading. on cars it sets a vss code and because the ecu/ecm does not know how fast the car is going it will put the trans into limp mode and will not shift.
just for laughs a dodge grand caravan has a bad 2nd gear so the computer senses the problem and puts the trans in 2nd gear then because u have a bad 2nd gear the car stops.:laugh: u can turn the key off then on then u can drive until the computer sets the code.:laugh:
