Engine color question?

I just bought a black engine 2006 classic from a bloke who put 131,000 trouble free miles on it.

Does it smell faintly of curry?

Mines an 2006 Classic. Date of manufacturing was 10/05 with the black engine. Have noticed in the past few weeks under really hard accerating seems to pop out of second gear. But hey that could just be me not putting enough effort with up lift getting into second.

i have read a lot of threads on this and it does not sound good

Mine is silver. bought it in 04. it has over 45,000 on it and still runs like new
