El Grande horn from NAPA AUTO

It's not a dumb question.
I asked too.

I tried it as the setup that came with the horns showed and the Triumph wiring has some odd way to make it work with hot horn with key on and back to the switch (button). i couldn't make it work.

My short answer. I don't know, or care any more.

Long answer.
I'm going with my friend, the professional (auto/motorcycle) electrician, that set it up.
It works.
It didn't work any other way, which, i'm ok with anyone elses idea that works.
I asked him to set it, to allow the OEM horn and the "new" horns to operate together.

Pardon the dumb question: Why do you jumper pins 30 and 86?

You can avoid jumpering by buying a horn relay kit from Eastern Beaver. It puts battery power to the horn and uses the OEM button. Easy install as well.

That's what I was thinking. I already have a Stebel mounted under the left side panel and it uses a relay to run direct to the battery. I'm planning on mounting a cruise control this winter and may have to remove the Stebel so I was looking at this solution for the horn.

Consider the Throttlemeister. Variable tension lets you chose how much help.
Not electronic but works great at holding speed and reduce the throttle strain.

I currently use the Go Cruise which works surprisingly well for the $20 or so that I paid for it. I already have the electronic unit on the shelf and will be installing it during the winter mx breakdown.
