It's not a dumb question.
I asked too.
I tried it as the setup that came with the horns showed and the Triumph wiring has some odd way to make it work with hot horn with key on and back to the switch (button). i couldn't make it work.
My short answer. I don't know, or care any more.
Long answer.
I'm going with my friend, the professional (auto/motorcycle) electrician, that set it up.
It works.
It didn't work any other way, which, i'm ok with anyone elses idea that works.
I asked him to set it, to allow the OEM horn and the "new" horns to operate together.
