Effect of windshield

Yeah, tossing up whether to put mine on for the RDU or stick to the full screen until summer.

I think some amount of this "feeling a lot slower" is psychological also. I mean, sure, a big shield will catch more wind than even a rider, especially if the rider crouches down some, which will no doubt affect speeds and acceleration at higher speeds but going 120 km/h with a shield is a nice and restful experience, and 120 km/h with the shield detached feels like you're going 300, not 120, by comparison.

But hey, there's an easy fix - a 300 HP supercharger kit. Problem solved.

Has anyone tried one of these ? Windvest

Ya had one on my 05 works ok about like the summer screen. The electroplating on the mount bubbles and corrodes under the plating which sucks. Tossed it in the garage and went OEM

Scott; thanks for the info. That's what I want it for. If it rusts, dip it in rust-oleum. Just want something much smaller than the OEM with tall 7Jurock screen.

The 7Jurrock is a very good shield for touring.
The XL Fly is just adequate, but it provides much less drag, higher speed and better looks.

I just ran a test run on a 14 x 16 Windvest. It is about 6 inches shorter and a lot narrower than my 7Jurock. Running the Bell 500 with a big shade bill. Felt promising. Too much traffic to tell.

Rick,
I first ran a three day ride and then took a 2500 mile trip this summer with the XL Fly.
I found it was adequate for me.
If you are running a Triumph fixing kit, I could easily remove it and we could instal on yours so you could try it out on one of our day rides in Leakey.

It's been done and ready to fly. It's light and blingy. U gona like it. The OEM kit is stored properly.

WHAT? Your response made no sense to me?
