Easy Bracket Loads

You are correct about the mounting. They are actually affixed about 1/3-1/2 of the way down the bag. The steel mounting plate that bolts to the box is substantial. I can't recall the exact size but as I think it is about a 5inx8 or 10inch. Just a guess. (bike is out in the shop and I am heading to the airport)

I chatted with this young guy in Moab, UT and I believe he had one of those type of brackets.

I just tried to zoom in on the bags in this pic to confirm but the angle of the bike is not right.

Those are 40mm long/low cans. Looks like they are resting against the springs.

He's not so good at packing but looks like he's got lots of miles on those leathers.

What was in that leather roll on the right side? Blanket? Tools?

I didn't notice that until I posted the pics. I took this picture in August and as I recall, he'd been on the road for about two months since he left Tennessee. He was definitely a serious rider. We joked about his ukulele.

Juggs wrote;I suppose I could put a similar support on the ammo cans as the leatherlykes but them I'm rubbing on my black Progressives and I just know it'll rub a polished spot after time.

Maybe I could find a way to put some sort of vertical pin that would slide into a tube that I weld to the can on the bottom to keep it away from the bike and add a little more support

Weld a PIVOTING post on the bottom of the cans that folds up when off the bike and pokes into a locating tube at the pillion peg mounting point 8)

I have the H & B hard panniers fitted to an Easybracket system, and it's not a problem keeping them parallel to the bike, and rigid - ie away from the exhaust silencer.

The bracket that comes with the Easybracket is so deep that you can get 4 fixing points through it and into the rigid pannier, or ammo box, quite easily, which holds it rigid.

Easy Brackets ordered.

40mm cans showed up a week ago.

And Skip, I'll get those OEM bags off to you this weekend.

Ya know, I've heard some people complain about NewR3's prices but I have to say, I've had nothing but good with their sales and service.

I just ordered those brackets an hour ago. 2PM my time on a Friday and I already have a UPS tracking number and they are en route.

They may be a little more than everyone else but they sure seem to be a good company.

Got them on this morning around 04:30.

I still have to paint them up.

They sit crooked right now because there is a support rail welded on each side of the can, this prevents the EasyBracket from mounting flush with the ammo can side. I'm swinging up to Ace Hardware today to get some spacers and then they'll sit straight.

The EasyBrackets where, well, easy. According to their paperwork, the weight limit is 15 pounds but I think they'll hold more than that.

I'll post more pics once I get the spacers and paint them.
