Eastern Beaver headlight relay install in less than 2 hours

Maybe I am missing something here you said you fitted a EB kit so did you make your own or buy the Easter Beaver harness which is a plug and play an does not require soldering or cut/splicing I have one here that pulled out of a members bike and replaced with my set up at his request and the Eastern Beaver Relays are the ones I refer to as being hard to get.

I have the EB kit. Was going to make my own but I could not be stuffed. Might get a spare or two from EB.

I put the EB harness on my '06 last weekend but did not follow the install instructions. In order to keep the position lights I ran the harness connection cable into the right headlight and cut the wires off the H4 socket and connected the relay harness into the stock headlight harness. This leaves the original headlight harness still connected under the tank so the position light wires are never disconnected. I had opted for the lo beam cut off switch which now turns the headlight lamps off, but not the position lights since they are still powered through the original harness. The install is working great!

Just another point to make also is that the Canadain, The other Aussie and myself all bought a FZ1 Fuzeblock but upon closer inspection and investigation I have found it is not capable of handling the current flow of Stebel Nautalus Air horns (18 - 20 amps) let alone the current drawn by your lights with exception of maybe the J W Speaker type LED headlights but I would have to check, the FZ1 Fuzeblock is only designed to cope with 10 amps or less so heat grips and other accessories should all be safe with it

55 watts 12 v is about 4.5 amps, so have to calculate what it all adds up to. You should probably be able to wire two separate fuses from the Fuzeblock to one output, and get 20 amps that way, but the Fuzeblock tops out at a total of 30.

The next step up is to get a http://pdm60.com - an all solid state variant that does about the same thing without fuses. It tops out at 60 amps total and has one output that can supply 20 momentarily for the Stebel.
