The only benefit you'd get from the H-4 relay kit is the low beam cut-out option. Handy if you tune yourself, but you can also just pull the lamp fuse and tune too.

My home built relay system allows me to cut out Main and Dip. Tuning is one reason (and imo a very good one) - also allows you to fit proper DAYLIGHT RIDING lights with R87 controllers.
I have an unused Eastern beaver headlight relay kit that I bought for my 2009 R3 which is being replaced with a Roadster. I never fitted the kit, and it appears from this thread that I won't need it for the new bike. If any guys who go to the Wetlands want it for their bikes let me know and I'll bring it along (£20 or a couple of Americanos at the Zetland )

My 2010 Roadster was recalled for the relay update. I elected to just bring the Triumph kit home in a bag as I already had the EB installed and felt it was the better solution. The EB solution has fewer wires and relays and feeds directly from the battery, only using the stock harness for switching. IMHO the EB kit will provide slightly brighter lighting.

I didn't get notified of the recall (2010 roadster), but when I rung the dealer I was told it was subject to 2 recalls / the wiring harness and the relays. (The dealer here in Aus has to order the parts in - that was a few weeks back) I fitted the EB kit but I'm going to get the recall kit fitted because I didn't hook up the parking lights.
let me know if you notice any increase in headlight brightness .... which reminds me that last night riding the little ninja 250r down to whitby, the headlight brightness was 'cycling'. Thought maybe I was developing a brain problem then realised the warm'n'safe heated gear works via a solid state controller that cycles the power on and off dependent on the setting. The ninja's little alternator is working hard just to light up the road never mind keeping me warm.
