This Pacific to Atlantic and back ride has plenty boring hwy & freeway in between twisties.
Having trouble finding a simple bluetooth or plug into cell phone set that will allow a helmet to slide over without interference.
Any suggestions appreciated.

There are a few companies that do it but there is one that you can scan your ear with your phone and they will make you custom flush fit ear protection headset with speakers in them.
Here is the best there is. You can also do a diy kit but this is better.

Or a different helmet.
I've used some of the best helmets and worst helmets. I've used a few different coms and by far the packtalk bold with JBL speakers are the best but still none of the helmets on the market combined with the best speakers can offer adequate hearing protection at any wind noise past 40mph or being able to hear anything past 40mph on the coms. Once you go in ear protection/speakers there is no going back.
That podcast I shared really sums it all up nicely by a professional

Not in ear and do not provide hearing protection that OP seeks.
But I'm curious if you have tried those over the JBLs? Are the better? The say they are 115 db. That's not something you want next to your ears competing for engine and wind noise. I see marketing bs when I read junk like that.

Just putting this out there.
Putting in any form of audio playback into your ears and operating a motorcycle or vehicle in the USA is illegal. Please refer to the podcast I linked to understand this stupid paradox made by the DOT.
