Chalk and cheese. I've never ridden any Ducati with poor brakes.
Duc' chassis are generally VERY taught - but have generally give no notice of the limits being exceeded. You're ON or OFF.
It worries me a bit that the R3 feels as if it may well be the same.
It's one reason I like Guzzis. They're a little more nervous (ime better than Duc's in hairpin type roads) - but warn you with a polite "Ahem!"
imo The Cali1400 comes nowhere close, though - plus I don't like it (and I am VERY pro Guzzi).
If anybody could have made an R3 like Italian bike - it would have been Laverda.
Though tbh - I think that at one time it could well have been something from France.
