Driveshaft Spline Lube

It's the same here in NZ, frieght out is way cheaper than frieght in, which of coarse is good for me sending Exhaust systems all over the World.

In this case I would not call under AUD$9 post from US to Australia for an 8oz tub of grease expensive at all. You just have to carefully check out all the suppliers and their postage freight charges before purchase. I am sure I could have found a similar priced item elsewhere but been charged a flat US$45-65 freight charge ontop instead of just US$6.34 from this Amazon listing above.

It's pretty thick... that's what she said

Gratitude, Abe!
Haven't cracked mine yet.

I truly believe one could just use regular heavy duty high temp grease on the splines as long as they are cleaned and re greased at every tire change. I'm not talking about you car tire folks however.

Looking at the old pictures of the splines that failed they looked rusted and dried out. The splines looked like they had been dried out for awhile. Take note that both bikes ran car tires.

YEP trying to save money with a CT and then they ruin the drive shaft and rear end WOW

Got me a bottle of BelRay assembly lube....has lots of moly.

Since the Moly content seems to be the most important factor:

Q. What is the Moly content on your 99030 Assembly Lube? I am looking for a lube for the splines on the final drive on my motorcycle. This looks like it may be a good choice.
Sir Tech -
The Bel-Ray Assembly Lube is around 40% moly and is the product we recommend for the spline assembly on rear final drives.

Wasn't a 60% Moly content required/recommended for the Rocket ?

I know the Honda Paste was or is if you can find it is 60% not sure about what Mr triumph recommend, I have some tiny tubs(10g) of 73% moly I will be using shortly to replace the Dana Spicer grease I have been using, fingers crossed it does the job:cautious::cautious:
