DIY tire replacement - What you think?

From the cheap harbour freight one to some of the ones on Amazon to the motion pro one... They all do the same job. The Amazon one I got is kinda a POS after using it a few times but it works. The issue has become that the bearings on the rollers have started to deform on one side and it binds. Flipped it around and it's good to go for another 20 uses. The other issue is that the shaft came bent and is just steel so I could bend it back but when I put a wheel from the rockets rear on it bends a tiny bit. It's ok because the bearings are what the wheel spins on if they are old but new bearings are too tight for it to work that way and relies on the shaft being able to spin on its rollers.

You get what you pay for.

The metal stand is really cheap, without a doubt Chinese, so needed a little fettling to square things up. I could have made something, but really for the price, it wasn't worth getting my tools out. If you go down this route? make sure the thing is level (There is a small bubble level on my one), you'd be surprised how level is has to be for accurate balancing. It's supplied with a bar and two aluminum cones, unfortunately these are too small to be used on the Triumph wheel, but they do fit my Hayabusa wheel



 
when i do my 07 rocket i have a set of used bearings that i have popped out the seals and cleaned up
so i just use the rear axle with the bearings riding on the jack stand and it works great.
ps i have an extra rear axle when doing just the front.
 
I've always changed my own bike tyres, but more recently I've used a set of "Motion Pro Bead Pro" tyre levers which work pretty good. I bought these in 2018 for £44, seems now they are £71 ****! With the monster rear tyres on my 2 bikes, it is a proper challenge to change rear tyres on your own and now that I have an R3, which has an even bigger rear tyre, I will be removing the wheel and taking to my local tyre depot, same applies to my 2 other bikes, life's too short to be pissing about with tyres lol

I rigged up a standard set of balancing cones and created 2 plates with bearings which bolt to a set of jack stands one per side, works OK.


 
can you show closer picture of jack stand, I am wondering what you put on jack stand to make it work balancing cone.

looks like the top half of an amazon balancer, the HF ones have less parts. it's very important for the shaft to be level in all 3 axis and im not sure HOW you are achieve that with some jack stands that have a LOT of play in them let alone 2 uneven surfaces.
