Deciding whether to buy 05 Rocket 3!

I have been riding for the last 10 years and currently ride a Valkyrie Tourer! I am looking at a loaded 3000 mile Rocket 3 with most of the available accessories ie bags, fuel gauge, clock, htd grips, chrome galore! Since this is one of the early years, should I be wary of it since no warranty exist? The owner said he paid over 24,000 for it and it can be bought for $8000 USD! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have an 05 Rocket and have put 20000 miles on it with minimal problems. Outside of routine maintenance oil changes , valve adjustment , brakes and tires, only problems have been a throttle cable and shifter adjustment.
I've added pipes and a power commander to mine
I also owned a 2000 Valkrie. i sold it and have regretted it ever since, i loved that bike. I had a Rune which I traded in for my Rocket
i will say the Rocket out Valkries the Valk. The Rocket is bigger and more powerful. the Valk is smoother and they both handle great for their size. I like the Rockets power more
The on;y reason I regret selling my 2000 Valk is they were such unique bikes and they arent made anymore
Keep your Valkrie and add the Rocket

My 2005 has 54000 trouble free miles, I would not hesitate one second if it was a newer one I would not give the same advice.

I have close to 30,000 trouble free miles on my "05. But I know some had problems. My Honey Bear for one.

Mine has 63,000 miles and has had no mechanical issues at all.. Mine has been down a while, but it isn't anything major, mostly just awaiting parts!.. Hope to be adding more miles on her again next week!

3,000 miles ? I would worry about how to get the mothball smell off of it, not the bike. Make them turn the engine over to make sure it isn't locked up
