Hi John, I am Happy with my DP outlaw pipes but had a lot of exhaust popping on deceleration. When I bought the pipes on EBAY the ad said basically just do the 12 minute tune and the Rocket's computer will adjust the fuel mixture, no tune needed. Well that wasn't my experience. What I did was install a power commander V, a bit of a pain in the ass, no room to work and to many wires, but I eventually got It done. The Power Commander V hooks up to your personal computer and you have to adjust the air/fuel mixture.I don't recall the exact mixture I set it at,it was some time ago, and it took awhile before I got the bike to a place where 90-95% of decel popping is gone. I still have some popping if I decel quickly from a high RPM but it is so little I can live with it. I guess I would be able to fine tune the mixture even more but I am happy where I am at. Without the PCV the decel popping was horrible. Good luck. I have my bike stored for the winter, 2 hours from my house, or else I would have plugged my computer into the PCV and let you know what my fuel/air mixture is.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I made contact with Dragon Motorcycles who have the dyno kit. Reckon they can sort me through the bikes own ECU with mapping.

They were recommended to me asking £325 and need the bike for a day.

OK Good luck John it is just a matter of getting the right fuel/air mixture. The bike runs lean from the factory. With the Outlaw pipes(less restriction more air) with the power commander or any map your making the bike run richer(adding more fuel) which is needed for the less restrictive pipe. GOOD LUCK JOHN. The Rocket is the best bike I ever owned still can't believe why I don't see more of them in USA. People here just have that Harley only mentality. Man all you have to do is ride a Rocket to see how really special this bike is. Again, best of luck!!!

Haha, yes you love the Harley’s but then got to admit I like that look.

Bought the rocket, this will make you laugh I have never ridden one. Didn’t test ride the one I bought just walked in saw it, bought it. Hope I like it.

John for me performance is key, The Rocket handles very well for a big bike and hit the throttle and there is nothing like it and try to get that performance from a Harley at the price that the Rocket costs. The only thing I like more about a Harley is the exhaust sound that is hard to beat. But performance wise the Rocket is way ahead a real blast to drive.

A crossover pipe instead of the stock box will change the sound dramatically and improve breathing greatly. Check the dyno results in the post "tuning basics" by @ulfpenner on this forum. If you listen, you can hear the difference when he does the dyno run after changing the crossover.
