Dave Platt Short Custom Pipes

Exactly.

I agree.
The mounting lugs and the entry pipe are correct in relation to each other, but not to the tail end of the body.
If one was to cut the end off the unit, rotate is how ever many degree's and weld it back on, all would be fine.

Paul,

With regards to a 2 pipe solution with a cross over, similar to the DP system, do you have something similar in your catalogue to replace this one?

Specifically no at present.
But I do have a twin muffler system "in the pipe line" which I have done the majority of development work for, just haven't had time to complete the details.

As always, should some one put an order in, then I would have to pull finger and make it happen.
This is, as you see in the photo above, set up to slide straight onto the Stock header, I've set this up to suit the ABS model bikes so it will fit the earlier models as well.
Also of coarse, my Header will plug straight into this tail end system.

Well, Paul. The design you have is a little longer than I would have hoped for, will there be a shorter version available if ordered? Or would this involve a complete rework of design etc?

Guys

Photos of my DP short pipes Fitted to my bike for comparison

Now I'm not 100% sure I have them the correct way up but it was the only way I could get them to fit
as you might see the left muffler does not sit at the exact same angle as the right muffler I assume this is correct

is your left hand bracket correct one ?

also why does the standard R3 have the rubbish looking / bad breathing cat delete and the roadster has a sensible looking / good one ....is it a fitment issue due abs ?

hope photos help

Hi RacerX74,

Do you have a side profile photo and possibly one from above? Bracket is definitely the correct one, been through every angle etc... only fits one way and bought an OEM one to make sure it was the right part! As for the pipes, they will only fit one way, so if you have them bolted on, it must be correct! When did you purchase the pipes?

uploaded more photos for you let me now if you want more .
I bought these used as I though they were pricey new for what you get to be honest But I'm happy with them they do sound very good
But as you can see the fitment is not perfect .
I'm told are about 5 months old

I have to ask - where did the yoshinura badges come from? But yes, looks the same as mine did. Have you tried putting a straight edge against the slash cuts yet? As for the sound, brilliant! I ran the bike for about 2 mins before the wife told me in words of 1 syllable or less, to turn it off immediately. She then commented that they 'were on the piss' and so the sorry saga began.

The badges are cheap Knock offs from Thailand they are only on there to annoy a riding pal who has a kwak ZX12R that has a full Yoshi system ...not that it helps as my Rocket keeps up with it almost everywhere unless he does 150+ .
I guess this might be the way they come mate ..as you say I don't think they have made to many of these
but yes your wife is right they are loud and a bit pissed

At first I thought she was talking about me but then she pointed to the pipes...

It's no problem to cut the 4" barrel of the Silencer back to whatever length pleases you, I won't charge any more for cutting it shorter
