OH NICE... when these bikes go down like that they get totaled. the running board bar that bolts to the casting of the engine block rips and snaps of the casting studs and the handle bars smack into the tank. Mine had crash bars on it and IMO they do nothing to save the bike. Sounds like you had quite the luck
And then some, I've seen bikes tip over with worse damage,any recommendations for the wind screen?
 
I saw some used rocket crash bars on ebay last week.
I think their more useful for preventing damage from falling over while stopped or moving slowly rather than for crash protection.

100% I've dropped my rocket a few more tiles than id like to admit and only a few scrapes. I keep forgetting I'm in 2nd when I'm on a parking lot ! They are worthless at speed unless you get lucky and hit soft dirt like OP

Those are hard to find even more so than crash bars. You could have one made! It's just thick polycarbonate.
