since I last posted on this thread I'v been talking to Sam and he said it would be very hard to make a good looking heat shield for this style so I have gone for the Thug/Predator style headers which will be fully heat shielded and will still look awesome and I'm sure sound great, I should be hopefully getting a message from Sam Soon to say its on it way

can anyone tell me, can i buy the jardine headers without buying the complete exhaust system? i'd really like to build an exhaust system based on their header along with a good flowing supertrap muffler. i've been thinking of this by remembering what the old 750 yamaha triples with the kerker 3 into 1 system, and what a great sound they had. it'd drop a lot of weight too. the weight of the rocket 3 is the intimidating factor for me, so if i can lighten it up a bit it'd sure be easier to maneuver and feel comfortable riding it rather than being in fear of riding it. any thoughts? i guess i just gotta get used to it.

Bryon540 was able to get just the header section for his Roadster. He had not mounted it prior to selling his bike so you might check with him to see if he still has it.
